We strongly recommend you purchase a sample before ordering any rolls of wallpaper. This will enable you to see the scale and colour of the design as well as the texture of the paper itself. Samples will be folded for posting purposes and are therefore not suitable for upcycling or decoupage projects. Samples are non-returnable.

Please be aware that our wallpaper is printed in batches and although every effort is made to ensure there is a consistent colour match across batches, there may still be a slight variation which could be noticeable once hung on the wall. Therefore please ensure you have ordered enough rolls of wallpaper so that we can select all of your order from the same batch. Additional rolls from the same batch may not be available if ordered at a later date.

PREPARATION

Prepare the wall by removing all traces of dirt, old wallpaper, or loose paint. Do not hang wallcoverings on any wall with a history of damp. Fill any cracks and allow to dry before hanging. Absorbent surfaces should be appropriately 'sized' using a diluted wallpaper adhesive. Sealed walls, i.e. painted should be rubbed with sandpaper to create a ‘key’.

It is important that the walls are of an even and consistent colour. If they are not then consideration should be given to painting them with an appropriate colourwash. Alternatively, we recommend that walls be ‘lined’ horizontally using a good quality lining paper. Allow this to fully dry.

HANGING

We recommend the use of a light ready mixed adhesive. Evenly apply the adhesive directly onto the wall using a brush or a short pile emulsion roller. Please note we do NOT recommend the use of self-mix adhesives.

It is not necessary to pre-cut the lengths of paper as it can be applied direct from the roll. Apply the wallcovering to the wall and smooth down with a good quality hanging brush or plastic spatula. Do not overlap, use butt joins. Take extra care when papering around electric light switches and power points. Always ensure the power supply has been turned off. Do not allow moisture to drip onto electrical contacts.

Carefully wipe any excess paste from the face of the paper immediately with a clean damp sponge.

BEFORE IT DRIES.

After hanging 2 or 3 lengths, inspect the results to ensure that there is no shading or other fault.

To the UK

Samples:

We currently use Royal Mail 2nd class service to deliver our samples to the UK. For samples that are in stock please allow 3-4 days for delivery. For samples that are on pre-order please allow 3-4 weeks from your order date for delivery. You will be sent an email to notify you when your order has been dispatched.

Wallpaper Rolls:

We currently use a tracked and signed for service with Parcelforce to deliver our wallpaper rolls to the UK.

For in stock rolls please allow 2-3 days for delivery. You will be sent an email to notify you when your order has been dispatched which will also include a tracking reference number. The courier will require a signature on delivery so please bear this in mind when applying a delivery address to your order.

For wallpaper rolls that are on pre-order please allow 4-5 weeks for delivery from the date of your order. Once your order is in-stock we will contact you for your preferred delivery date as the courier will require a signature on delivery. You will be sent an email to notify you when your order has been dispatched which will also include a tracking reference number.

We have a 28-day return policy, which means you have 28 days after receiving your order to return it to us.

To start a return, please contact us at hello@richmond-vawser.com within 14 days of receipt of your order, you then have 28 days from the date of receiving your order to return it to us at your own cost. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Costs for return delivery are not reimbursable unless the item is faulty or damaged.

You must use a tracked delivery service to return your order to qualify for a refund.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, such as samples and gift cards. We do not accept returns of partial wallpaper orders (unless faulty), for example you have ordered two wallpaper rolls of the same design and colour and want to return one of the rolls, keeping the other. Please get in touchif you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

If you are returning wallcovering because it is damaged or faulty please note we will only refund the cost of the item itself and we will NOT refund any labour costs associated with hanging it.

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
